Gable Island and Penguin Colony with Canoeing

Daily from 08 to 18.30

We will leave from Ushuaia city by bus to the east on National Route number 3 and then on the “J” route. Once on the Lasifashaj River, peparations will begin to paddle in inflatable canoes along the river and the Beagle Channel. To get on the canoes we will offer you rubber boots, cover pants and life jackets. Along the itinerary at sea we will see wildlife, variety of seabirds and it´s also possible to see sea lions.         

Once the rowing is finished, we will arrive at Estancia Harberton. From there we will take a motor boat in the direction to Martillo Island. Upon reaching the island and from the boat, we can see a large colony of penguins at their breeding site.

Sailing in the motor boat then continues to the main attraction of the day: the uge and wonderful Gable Island, where an exquisite hot lunch awaits us, with good Patagonian wine. After a coffee, we go around the sorroundings in an entertaining interpretative walk to get to know the natural environment better and appreciate vestiges of the Yámanas. After 2 hours of trekking, we will get back to Harberton and then take the bus to Ushuaia.
