An excursion that joins two of the four accesses that the Torres del Paine National Park has, allowing you to visit a little known and very attractive perspective for wildlife observation. Its landscape environment is undoubtedly a worthy place to visit. At the moment of entering the park through the Lago Sarmiento gate, we will begin our path with a gentle slope with a side view of the imposing Sarmiento Lake adjoining private lands, the usual hunting area for the region’s largest predator, the Puma. Species that finds in the National Park Torres del Paine its main source of food, the Guanaco. After an hour walking, we will arrive at an eaves where it is possible to observe a series of cave paintings with a date that exceeds 6,000 years old, a place frequented by groups of hunters known as one of the first populations that arrived in Patagonia. In this site we can photograph the environment and learn a little more about the local history.
The activity continues in the direction to Laguna Blanquillos, nesting and feeding place of different species of endemic birds of Patagonia such as ducks, caiquenes and black-necked swans always with a frontal view towards the Paine mountain range. After about 2 hours of walking we will arrive at the main access of Torres del Paine National Park: Laguna Amarga entry. After a stop for the use of services, we will return to the vehicle to go to a little-known area where the waters of the Paine River, coming from the Dickson Glacier, increase its flow with great concentration of minerals and sediments; The Paine Waterfall. In this place we will have free time to enjoy our box lunch with a frontal view towards the granite towers between Ñirre bushes. The journey continues towards Cañadón Macho, an area where it is possible to observe large groups of guanacos that live with species such as the Ñandú, Gray Fox, Condor, Black Eagle, among others.
